Creation SwapToday’s Friday Favorite comes courtesy of Creation Swap. I stumbled upon Creation Swap several years ago when it went by the name CreativeMYK. Their site contains thousands of Christian based graphics and motion clips for you to use.

The site is a giant network of people who share their work through the site. It is loaded with all sorts of graphic art in different formats. While some can only be downloaded in a .jpeg or .gif format, many others are editable. This make it nice if you want to tailor it for your church or student ministry.

Minute To Win ItI’m sure that most of you have heard of the game show, “Minute To Win It”, but what you may not know is that they provide an amazing list of games on their website. By simply clicking the link, you will have access to over 200 games!

Each game comes with written and video instructions, as well as what you’ll need to play the game. The simplicity and short time span that these games take make them appealing to ministries. Let’s face it, most nights, we don’t want a large chunk of time preparing and playing a game.

While the site is loaded with games, it can also be a bit overwhelming. That’s why we are going to sift through every single game and pick out our Top 20. Starting Monday, we will share a game every weekday during the month of March. We will also share some ways to incorporate the games into a themed night, month or summer competition.

Church Stage Design IdeasToday’s favorite comes courtesy of Church Stage Design Ideas. As you might guess, it’s a site devoted to the most amazing and creative stage designs that churches are using today.

Let’s face it, God’s presence can abide anywhere, even in a dingy and dark building. But far too many churches, youth, and kid ministries are worshipping in buildings that are bland, outdated and unintentionally retro simply because they don’t know how to change up their look.

Matt McKee TwitterIt’s Friday! I hope that you have had a great week. Today I want to share one of my personal favorites that I found through Twitter a little over a year ago. Personally, I don’t follow too many people I don’t know. I especially don’t follow people I’ve never heard of. But that changed when I found Matt McKee.

When I was 25, I was stubborn. I didn’t have an email, I just got my first cell phone and I would have never have dreamed of using MySpace, Facebook or Twitter at any time, for any reason (I also said that bottled water was the worst idea ever… oops!). Eight years later, I’ve found that if I wanted to connect with this generation, I had to start embracing technology. It’s not the only way to connect, but it is a major platform that we can use to foster and build relationships.

The Big GameThe Super Bowl is just around the corner, and since 111 million people tuned in last year, we figured there might be a good chance that you were one of them. The great thing about the Super Bowl is that you don’t have to be a football fan in order to watch. You may be watching because you want to hang out with friends, watch some funny commercials, or you may be one of those crazed halftime viewers!

No matter how you slice it, the Super Bowl is a phenomenal draw, and that’s why we are making the Super Bowl our Friday Favorite. To be more specific, we are going to give you a few helpful tips to make your big party a hit before it officially starts. The following are some pre-game ideas to take your party to the next step.

Game Show BlogHappy Friday! Our Friday Favorite comes courtesy of Game Show Blog. GSB is the brainchild of Dave Harris & Steve Stone. These great guys are also affiliated with Digital Stache, Church Tech Talk & Stuff I Can Use (not to be confused with the Stuff You Can Use blog). I encourage you to check out some of their other work in addition to my review of Game Show Blog.

One of the first things you’ll notice about GSB is that the site looks extremely professional and its sleek look makes it easy to navigate. GSB also offers amazing graphics that you can use with each game. In all honesty, I have spent way too much time over the years searching for and creating graphics that I feel match the quality of the game we are playing. They take of that for you in one fell swoop!

The Source for Youth MinistryHappy Friday to you all! We hope you’ve had a great week! Today is Friday, so we want to once again share with you one of our favorite websites: The Source for Youth Ministry.

The Source has incredible resources and information that has been compiled by Jonathan McKee. He started another website in 1999 and found out that there were a ton of youth workers around the world that were craving a site like this. While many sites have launched since, The Source remains one of the elite, providing materials that are relevant and up to date.

Austin McCann BlogNow that the holidays are over, Friday’s Favorite makes it’s return! This week our favorite is featuring another great blog for a vast array of student ministry related topics. I encourage you all to check out Austin McCann’s Blog.

I was first introduced to Austin’s blog through the another blogger, Josh Evans. I read Josh often and figured that any recommendations from him would be helpful. Austin provides a plethora of information on issues dealing with games, media, theology, leadership and a ton more.

joshhevans.comIn celebration of the continuation of the world, we share with you another one of our favorites: Josh Evans’ Blog.

Josh is a student pastor at Union Grove Baptist Church in North Carolina. Despite being a die-hard Duke Blue Devils fan, he shares some great resources and insights on his blog. Of course, we focus primarily on the games (which can be found under the “freebies” tab on his blog), but he also shares about relevant topics that are pertinent to youth pastors today.

Personally, I love reading and hearing from other youth pastors who are in the trenches. I feel like they understand where I’m at and that our hearts are knit together by the same call and passion. Take some time today to check out and subscribe to Josh’s blog (I do!) and follow him on Twitter @grovepjosh. He posts frequently and shares relevant posts from others who are involved in student ministry as well. Gather some great ideas and start incorporating them into your ministry in 2013!
