Back in the early 90’s, a game called “Six Degrees of Separation” emerged. The movie, starring Will Smith, helped to propel the game into the pop culture dialogue. The game was often played with Kevin Bacon as the end game. Basically, you had six moves to link another person to him. For example, you might try to start with Macauley Culkin.
1st Degree: Macauley Culkin & Ally Sheedy (Home Alone 2)
2nd Degree: Ally Sheedy & Molly Ringwald (Breakfast Club)
3rd Degree: Molly Ringwald & Joan Cusack (Sixteen Candles)
4th Degree: Joan Cusack & Julia Roberts (Runaway Bride)
5th Degree: Julia Roberts & Kevin Bacon (Flatliners)
Today’s game, uses the power of Google to play a new game, Six Degrees of Googlation. This is a spinoff of the old classic.

PREP TIME– 5-10 Minutes

I’m sure most of you know the basic rules of charades, which is simply acting out clues w/o words any verbal communication.
PREP TIME– 2-5 Minutes
ITEMS NEEDED– Plunger & Skateboard (1 set per team), Large Room (preferably a gym)
GAME TIME– 5-10 Minutes
PARTICIPANTS– Everyone – Teams of 8-12
After you select your teams, have them line up in a single file line behind the start line. You will need an end line as well. If you are in a gym, you can opt to go half court or full court. If you are not in a gym, use cones to have players go around. The game is quite simple. Each player will be equipped with a skateboard and a plunger. The game requires that each participant have their feet and hands off the ground at all times, only using their plunger to move them to the line (or cone) and back to the starting line. The first team to have everyone make one successful round trip wins the game.
This week we bring a classic to you with, Turkey Bowling. This is a fantastic game that can be played strictly for fun, or use it as a fundraiser for families who need food for Thanksgiving. Be creative and find a way to help others if you can as well!

ITEMS NEEDED– 1 Turkey, 10 Bowling Pins (or 2-Liters with Water) Per Lane & Tape or Cones
GAME TIME– 20-30 Minutes

If you decide to use real bowling pins, you can usually get these from a local bowling alley by just calling ahead and asking for some of their old pins. They should range between free to $1 or $2 per pin. Depending on how many lanes you want to create, you will need 10 pins per lane.

ITEMS NEEDED– Pair of Oven Mitts & Roll of Duct Tape for Each Contestant (Scissors Nearby for Early Escape)
GAME TIME– 2-5 Minutes
Once you have selected your participants, slide the oven mitts all the way on with their hands completely flat inside. This keeps them from gaining extra room for their escape.
